"Brand New Set Of Blues" Coming May 15th!!

Williams & Clark Expedition is proud to announce their new project, "Brand New Set Of Blues" will be released May 15th.  The CD is the fifth for the band since their inception in 2002.  Consisting of 13 songs, 9 of which are original to the band, and a bonus comedy track, this CD promises to be the best yet from the Expedition.  The CD features Tim Crouch, the band's honorary fifth member, on fiddle and special guests Claire Lynch and Buck White.  To pre-order your copy, please visit the band's on-line store.  If you just can't wait until May 15th for the whole project to ship, you may download individual tracks off the project for 99¢ each by following the same link.

Blake Williams Graces Cover Of Banjo Newsletter

The May issue of Banjo Newsletter features veteran banjo player Blake Williams.  The interview, conducted by Greg Cahill, covers everything from Williams' 37-year professional career to his personal banjo set-up.  The magazine will also feature a tab of his self penned "Cherry Creek".

Williams, who has been playing professionally since 1071, is a founding member of Williams & Clark Expedition and has worked with some of the forefathers of bluegrass music including Lester Flatt and Bill Monroe.  During his career, he has performed on award winning projects such as "Southern Flavor", the first album to win a Grammy.

Banjo Newsletter is a 48-page magazine covering all aspects of the 5-string banjo.  the magazine has been published monthly since 1074.

The Official Website Gets A New Look!

The official Williams & Clark Expedition website has a brand new look!  Each page has been completely redone and gives a "sneak peak" into the band's upcoming CD.  In addition to being able to download singles from each of the band's projects, visitors can also purchase other merchandise including the brand new Expedition t-shirts.  And each bio on the Expedition members includes new photos as well.  Come by for a visit and look around.

Williams & Clark Expedition recently visited Kyle Cantrell, bluegrass programmer for XM Satellite Radio recently for a special "Track By Track" taping to promote their new CD, "Brand New Set Of Blues".  The program will air on Bluegrass Junction, Track 14, in August and features an interview with the entire band along with each song from the CD.  Air dates for the show will be announced soon!  In the meantime, check out Kyle Cantrell's blog for everything related to Bluegrass Junction and XM!

On a recent trip to Arlington, VA for a show, the Expedition took some time out for a little sightseeing.  First the band visited with Katy Daley at WAMU radio (www.BluegrassCountry.org) for an hour long interview and to plays some cuts off the new CD.  After that, Katy joined the band along with WAMU DJ Bob Webster for a tour of the Washing National Cathedral and Arlington National Cemetary.  It was an amazing day spent with wonderful friends.  Photos from the trip have been posted on the band's web site and we hope you enjoy them!

 

Williams & Clark Expedition will be promoting their new project this month with live interviews on WAMU and XM Satellite radio.  The band will visit WAMU's Katy Daly and Lee Michael Demsey in-studio on Friday May 16th in Washington D.C..  You can listen to the live show broadcast 9:30am-10:30am Eastern at www.BluegrassCountry.org.

The Expedition will join XM's Kyle Cantrell on May 29th for a live taping of "Track By Track" to be broadcast in June.  Kyle will feature every track of the new project and interview the band as well.  Air-times will be posted at a later date.
